Roland Marko

Roland Marko is a Partner of Wolf Theiss and a member of the Intellectual Property & Information Technology practice Group since 2015.


Roland Marko is a partner at Wolf Theiss and has been with the firm since 2008. Roland specialises in Information Technology Law (IT-Outsourcing, Cloud Computing, E-Commerce, Licenses etc.), IT-Compliance: Data Protection and Data Security, Intellectual Property Law (including litigation), Unfair Competition Law, Food Law and Commercial and Corporate Law. He is the author of numerous articles on IP/IT law and has been a frequent lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences, St. Pölten on Media and communications Law since 2006. After having completed his legal studies, Roland obtained an LL.M. degree from the University of Vienna and he also has an Academic Media Expert certificate from the University of Graz. Roland is also a certified auditor under the “EuroPriSe” Data Protection Seal (Legal Expert).

Helmut Waitzer

Helmut Waitzer is Chief Information Officer of the Wolf Theiss Group and your technical contact for EuroPriSe certification.


Helmut Waitzer is the regional Chief Information Officer of Wolf Theiss, who is based in the Vienna head office. Having nearly 20 years of professional experience in the IT and technology sector, Helmut specializes in information economy and business information systems. Prior to joining Wolf Theiss, he was the head of IT and Organization of a renowed Austrian independent system house with offices across Austria, Germany and Switzerland, which optimizes corporate processes and implements business software solutions for national and international companies. He has a Master of Social and Economic Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and is a graduate of the TGM Vienna Higher Technical Education Institute. He is also certified as a EuroPriSe technical expert. Helmut is a member of the National Engineering Association (VOI) and of the Technologist Association.

Maria Maxim

Maria Maxim is a Partner at Wolf Theiss and coordinator of the Technology, Media, Telecom and data protection practice in Romania.


Maria Maxim is a Partner at Wolf Theiss and the coordinator of the TMT and data protection practice in Romania. During her legal career of nearly 20 years, Maria has implemented numerous data privacy (EU GDPR), anti-trust and compliance programs for major companies and has conducted a number of training programmes in her areas of expertise. She has extensive knowledge of the telecom industry, as prior to joining Wolf Theiss Maria was for 18 years an in-house legal counsel of a major telecom company in Romania where she coordinated the litigation, data protection, compliance and Anti – Money Laundering activities. Her experience includes also the position of senior manager, FIDS inside one of the “Big Four” accounting firms in Romania. Maria holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest and a Master’s degree in business law from Titu Maiorescu University, Bucharest. She graduated the EMBA at Maastricht School of Management, and is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. programme in civil law at the University of Bucharest – Faculty of Law. She is a member of the Bucharest Bar since 1999.

Martin Tauber

Since August 2018 Martin Tauber advises clients at Wolf Theiss in the area of data protection. He is a certified data protection officer.


Martin Tauber joined Wolf Theiss in the beginning of 2018. Prior to joining Wolf Theiss, Martin led the company wide GDPR implementation project at a leading PayTV company where he held the position of Data Protection Officer for 4 years. Before that, he was the General Counsel at the Austrian subsidiary of the company for 7 years. Martin holds a LL.M. degree in IT law from the University of Vienna and is a certified data protection officer according to the Ulmer model (UDIS, 2013). Furthermore he is CIPP/E (2017) and CISM (2006) certified.
